         I John Gilbert of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee, have this day bargained and sold and do hereby convey and transfer to Isham Treadway and his heirs and assigns forever, for the consideration of seventy five dollars to me paid a certain tract of land, lying in Robertson County aforesaid, in the 11 Civil District & bounded as follows, Beginning at a planted Rock, Running thence North 70 West 30 poles to a horse barn, thence South 20 ½ West sixteen and four tenths poles to a black walnut, thence South 38 degrees East fifty five poles to a rock, thence North 38 ½ degrees East thirty four poles, crossing the branch at twenty five poles to a rock, thence North 63 ½ degrees West thirty poles to the Beginning, containing ten acres, more or less. To have and to hold the same. To the said Isham Treadway and his heirs and assigns forever, I do covenant with the said Isham Treadway that I am lawfully seized of said land, have a good right to convey it, and that the same is unincumbered, I do further bind myself my heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to said land and every part thereof, to the said Isham Treadway his heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims of all persons whatever, this 30th day of April AD 1856.

         Personally appeared before me Robt W. Murphey Clk of the County Court of said County, Daniel Mulloy on the 9th of June 1856, and William Brook on the 24 of June 1856. Witness to the foregoing deed, who on their oaths say they are acquainted with John Gilbert the above bargainer and that he acknowledged the execution of said deed to be his act and deed for the purposes stated therein in his presenses. Given under my hand at office the 24th of June 1856.
