         For and in consideraton of one thousand Dollars cash to us in hand paid, the receipt of which is acknowledged, we have bargained and sold to and do by these presents hereby transfer and convey unto Milton Pitt his heirs and assigns forever the following described lot of ground lying in the 15th Civil District of Robertson County, Tennessee and in the village of Cross Plains and the same which we bought of __________ (Blank) the 26th day of October 1868, which deed is on Record in the Registrars office of Robertson County Tennessee in Book No 14, page 256, and bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning on a rock 9 feet west of where the old temperance hall stood in the middle of the road running from Cross Plains to Hopkinvill, Ky. Running west with said road with John Bells & H. Workins line 18 ¼ poles to a rock, thence north with what was J.M. Eatherlys line 76 8/10 poles to a rock said Eatherley’s corner, thence East 18 1/10 poles to a rock, thence South 76 8/10 poles to the beginning, containing by estimation 2 acres more or less, to have and to hold unto the said Milton Pitt his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. We are lawfully seized of said land and have a good right to convey it and the same is unincumbered and we will forever warrant and defend the title of said land unto the said Milton Pitt his heirs and assigns forever. December 22, 1876.

Hutchison the bargainor, with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that he executed the annexed instrument for the purposes therein contained.
