         This Indenture made this 13th Day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred & six Between James Chisum attorney in fact for John Chisum of Jackson County & state of Tennessee of the one part & James Long of the County of Robertson & State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that for & in Consideration of the sum of five hundred Dollars lawful money of the United State to him in hand paid by the said Long the Receipt of which is hereby fully acknowledged & him the said Chisum Herewith fully paid & satisfied hath Given Granted Bargained sold & Confirmed & by these presents Do Give Grant Bargain Sell Convey & Confirm unto the sd James Long his heirs & assigns forever all that Certain tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in Robertson County & State of Tennessee on Richland Creek of Red River & is bounded as follows (to wit) Beginning at a hickory on the north side of sd Creek Runs south two hundred & twenty seven poles to a Dogwood then west two hundred & fifty two poles to a Corner, then north two hundred & twenty seven poles to a Corner, then East to the Beginning being part of a tract of six hundred & forty acres granted to William Hood by the State of North Carolina Letter patent bearing Date 26th Day of June 1792, the right & title of which said Land and premises is heretofore Described with Every part & parcel thereof he the said James Chisum Attorney in fact for John Chisum do forever Warrant & Defend ____ from the Lawful Claim of the sd John Chisum & his heirs & assigns forever as well of from himself his heirs & assigns & all other person or persons whatsoever unto the only proper use & behoof of him the sd James Long his heirs & assigns forever. In testimony whereof he the said James Chisum is attorney in fact for the sd John Chisum hath hereunto set his hand & seal the Day & Dates first above written.

This Deed was proven in open Court by the oaths of Anthony Jones & Robert Long & ordered to be registered.

         Know all men by these presents that I John Chisum of the County of Jackson & State of Tennessee have Come to ___ made & appointed & by these persons to Do Come to ____ & appoint James Chisum my true & Lawful attorney for me & in my Name & stead To make a Deed of Convyance of five hundred acres of Land Lying on the Sulpher fork of Red River known by the Name of Hood’s preemption or otherwise to sell & convey the above mentioned five hundred acres of Land to any person whatsoever who my sd attorney full power to sell for Demand Receive any other Debt or Debts which I the sd John Chisum have arising me at this time in at full & ample a monies as if I was personally present my self, Either in this state or in the state of Kentucky.
In Testomony whereof I have hereunto set my had & seal this first Day June 1804.
