         This indenture made this 28th day of September the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty seven between John P. CHAMBERS of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee of the one part and William WILLS of the State and County aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said John P. CHAMBERS for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid by the said William WILLS Jr. the receipt and payment is hereby acknowledged hath given, granted, bargained, sold and conveyed unto the William WILLS Jr. a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee on the waters of Beaver Dam of the Sulphur Fork butted and bounded as follows, to wit, Beginning at the Southeast corner of David HENRY's ___ and Northwest corner of James OWENS deceased tract on a fallen down black oak and pointers running thence East forty two poles to a walnut thence North sixty eight poles to a sycamore on the bank of the creek thence down said creek with its several markers to a red
pg 460) oak on the bank of the creek thence South seventy poles to a stake thence West fifty two poles to three black oaks in a cluster and ___ with pointers around the same thence South one hundred and twenty two poles to a small black oak thence East eighty eight poles to a black oak in OWENS line thence with said line one hundred and twenty two poles to the beginning containing one hundred acres to have and to hold the said bargained land and premises with and singular all the rights, titles, hereditaments and appurtenances thereto belonging to the same unto the said William WILLS Junr. his heirs & forever and the said John P. CHAMBERS doth covenant to and ___ with the said William WILLS Jr. his heirs & that he will warrant and forever defend the aforesiad land and premises unto the said WILLS his heirs & from himself his heirs & from the lawful claim of any ___ person claiming the same in testimony whereof the said John P. CHAMBERS hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and date within writtin.

         Personally appeared before me William SHELLY Clerk of the County Court for said County John P. CHAMBERS the bargainor of the above deed with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that he executed the same for the purposes therein contained.
