         For and in consideration of three hundred Eighty five 53/100 ($385-53/100) Dollars, Two hundred of which is cash paid to me? The receipt I acknowledge and for the remainder one hundred five 53/100 a promissory note this Jan. 1st 1902 has been given ______ Even date with this deed I T.D. Berry do hereby transfer and convey to W.W. and H.G. Gilbert, their heirs and assigns the right and title to one tract of land lying in the village of Orlinda in the second civil district of Robertson County State of Tennessee known and described as follows.
         Beginning at a stone in Cross Plains and Adairville Road and corner to W.E. Wilks, 1st running N 45-3/4 W. seven (7) poles and twelve (12) links to a stone thence S 33 W twenty two (22) poles and fourteen (14) links to a corner to Cunningham’s 1st thence N 41 ½ W fifteen (15) poles and five (5) links to a stone corner to Wm. McNealey thence S 3W forty-four (44) poles and twenty three (23) links to a stone said McNeeley’s corner thence S 85 ½ E seventeen (17) poles and to a stone corner to O. Berry’s lot thence N 3 E twenty eight (28) poles and six links to a stone said Barry corner thence N 41 ½ W nine (9) poles and three (3) links to a corner to W.E. Wilks thence N 33 W twenty two (22) poles and twenty (20) links to beginning containing three (3) Acres three (3) Roods and seventeen (17) poles more or less.
         To have and to hold to said W.W. & H.G. Gilbert their heirs and assigns forever For and in consideration of love and affection for my devoted nephews, W.W. And H.G. Gilbert whose life have been filled with acts of kindness to me, I hereby transfer and convey in fee simple to them the right and title to the following described tract of land lying in the second district of County and State before named and bounded as follows.
         Beginning at a corner to Wm. McNeeley and in F.P. Kelly’s line running S. 85 ½ E. forty (42) poles and five (5) links to a stone corner to J.C. Webb thence with his line S 3 W sixty (60) poles to a stone thence N 85 ½ W forty two (42) poles to a stone said Webb’s corner in Kelly’s line thence N 3 E sixty Eight (68) poles to beginning, containing Seventeen acres three (3) roods and thirty six (36) poles more of less.
         To have and to hold to said W.W. Gilbert and H.G. Gilbert their heirs and assigns forever,- I hereby covenant with said W.W. and H.G. Gilbert that I am well seized and possessed of the above described tracts of land and that I have legal right to transfer and convey the same as aforesaid and I bind my self heirs and legal representatives to forever Warrant and defend the title to the same against the claims of all person whomsoever. This February 5th 1901.

         Personally appeared before me, R.M. Felts, a Notary Public in and for said County and State, the within named T.D. Berry the bargainer, with whom I am personally acquainted, and who acknowledged that he executed the within deed instrument for the purposes therein contained.
