D. Arnold to E. Arnold 28 July 1850.
         Know all men by these present that I Daniel Arnold of the County of Robertson and State of Tennessee are held and firmly bound unto Elijah Arnold of the County & State aforesaid in the penal sum of four hundred and sixty dollars, good and lawful money, I bind myself, my heirs and assigns firmly by these presents, sealed with my seal and dated this 7th day of August 1841. The conditions of the above obligation is such that if the above bound Daniel Arnold doth make a good and lawful right and title to a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County and State aforesaid on the South side of Summers branch & bounded as follows to wit: Beginning on a small hickory near the mouth of the spring branch thence up the branch with its meanders to a Walnut & thence South 19 degrees East 85 poles to a rock near a spring so as to include said spring, thence due East 114 poles to a hickory corner to House, thence due North 48 poles to a post Oak, thence due West 25 1/2 poles to a rock corner to Chism, thence north 36 poles to a rock on the north bank of the branch thence West with the meanders of said branch to the beginning. Then this obligation to be void, otherwise remaining full forever and virtue, the right to said land to be made to the said Elijah Arnold, so soon as he lifts the note given by myself and heirs to Robert Millikin Received 28 Jan'y 1850 at 10 o'clk PM.

State of Tennessee Robertson County.
         Personally appeared before me Joseph E. Winfield clk of the County Court for said County. William C. Chism on the 16 July 1849, subscribing witness to the within named Bond who being first sworn depose and say that he is acquainted with Daniel Arnold the bargainer and that he acknowledged the same to be his act & deed upon the day it bears date, also personally appeared be me William C. Chism on the 16 July 1849 and James L. Williams on the present day for the purpose of proving the hand writing of Elijah L. Chism a subscribing witness to the within Bond who being first sworn, depose and say, that they were acquainted with Elijah L. Chism whose signature appears to the within Bond also his hand writing & that the signature purporting to be his is genuine and in his own hand writing and that the said E. L. Chism now resides beyond the limits of this State, Witnesseth my hand at office this 28 day of January 1850.
