         In the name of God Amen. I Joseph PITTS of Tennessee Robertson County being of sound and perfect mind & memory do this 25 day Jany in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say in the first place I wish all my just debts speedily paid according to contract & in the second place I give to my wife Patsy PITTS the land surrounding the house in which I now live butted and bounded as follows, Beginning at the mouth of the Spring Branch running up Red River

with its meandering to Samuel McALLILEY's thence west a few poles to his n.west corner thence with his McALLILEY line south to his south west corner thence with his line east to a point due north of the mouth of the Dry Hollow, thence to the south of said Dry Hollow, thence up said hollow a southwardly course to my South boundary line, thence with said south boundary west to the Spring Branch joining James EDWARDS, thence down said branch on the west side so as to include my Spring with the said branch to the Beginning. I also give to my said wife three negroes Bob, Agg & Hastin with two work horses, two cows and calves & four head of young cattle with as much of my other kind of stock that is on the plantation with household & kitchen furniture, farming tools & provisions stuff to spin __ and as three good men and their oath shall think is needed by her in her then present situations. I also will that Milly & Joseph PITTS have given to them by their mother before a full division is entered into a negro a pair that is A__ to Milly & Jerry to Joseph PITTS with as much of every other kind of property as any of my children has had given by me when they left me always remembering that there will be certainly be many little things & favors past and forgot which upon the whole I wish certainly and by and all doubt made up to them up to them. In the next place I will that my land negroes and every thing that is not already given away be rightly, justly and equally divided amongst all my children without distinction. I also will that Hick and Anna only be considered as bound to labour for any person til they have right healthy sound sensible children, the youngest two years old at that time and ever after if they behave well and honestly maintain themselves they are to have liberty to work for their own proper use & benefit but if they trot about, steal, disturb the neighborhood

keep bad company, harbor bad people knowingly then and in that case will that the owners should take them back and dispose of them as he thinks proper. I also will to my wife Patsy PITTS my wagon and gears and the saddle she claimed as hers. I do appoint my loving wife, Bartley PITTS, George BARBEE Executors to this my last will in witness I have hereunto signed my name in presents of.
