Robertson County Court Feby, Term 1861,
         Whereas it appears to the Court here that Dudley Payne is dead, and having made no will or testament, and application being made by Jacob Cobb to have Letters of Administration granted to him on the Estate of Dudley Payne deceased, he having given bond & security as by Law in such case is required, the Court therefore order that he have letter accordingly.
         These are therefore to Authorize & empower you Jacob Cobb to enter into & upon all and singular the goods & chattels rights & credits of the said Dudley Payne deceased and the same into your possession intake, wheresoever to be found in this State and a true & perfect inventory make and return into our ensuing County Court on oath, and all the just debts of the intestate pay so far as the said estate will amount or extend, the residue thereof deliver to those who have a right thereto by law, Therein fail not.
Witness R. H. Murphey, clerk of the said Court, at office, the first Monday in Feby, 1861.
