         Know all Men by these presents that I John Morris of Robertson County and State of Tennessee for the Valuable Consideration of three hundred Dollars to me in hand paid by Samuel McMurry the Receipt and payment whereof is hereby Acknowledged hath this Day Sold and Delivered to Samuel McMurry one Negro girl named Hannah about eleven years old which Negro I will warrant and forever Defend to said McMurry his heirs or afsignees against the just Claim of all persons or persons lawfully Claiming his. In witnefs whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this 25th Day of July 1808 and 33rd year of our Independence.
