Acuff Family

James William “Will”Acuff – born in Bledsoe County in 1869, the son of James C. J. and Margaret (Carder)Acuff. Married Sarah Josephine Cunningham, the daughter of Thomas Newton Locke and Lorinda Jane (Smith) Cunningham in 1890, Rhea County.

He worked for Dayton Fuel and Iron and with the closing of that establishment, sought work in Birmingham, Alabama in 1903. In 1906 he moved his family to Pueblo, Colorado and worked at Colorado Fuel and Iron until his retirement.
