CHURCH LETTER OF WILLIAM AUSTON

The AUSTON family moved. from Henderson County, Tennessee, to Lake County r Tennessee in 1858. Mr. AUSTON brought his church letter with him and it is still in the possession of his grand-daughter Mrs. Joe Carter, of Wynnburg, Lake County, Tennessee. Mrs..Carter lives in the same house where her father brought her mother as a bride. The following is a copy of the church letter:

State of Tennessee
Henderson County

            The United Baptist Church, worshiping at Cross Roads.

            To any Sister Church of the same faith and order.

            This is to certify that our Beloved Brother WILLIAM AUSTON is a member of our Church in full fellowship and good standing and is hereby dismissed from us when he shall have joined another church of the same faith and order and may the blessing of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ rest and remain with him forever.

Done by order of the Church in conference Saturday, before the 4th Lord's Day in January 1858.
