ADAMS, William was on the 1840 Polk CO TN census with a
family listing that fits the profile of my ADAMS family. Wm was 70-80 yrs,
female was 40-50 yrs...perhaps a father & dght or an older man with a
younger wife?? Children listed were: 1 male age 10-15 which would fit my CALVIN
ADAMS bc 1828, 1 male age 5-10 which would fit LEVI ADAMS bc 1833, 1 female age
10-15 which fits CELIA ADAMS bc 1830, and 1 female age 5-10 which fits TELITHA
ADAM bc 1832. On the 1850 census Wm is gone and these children are living with
Sarah Samples age 62 as head of the house. William Adams was issued a land

I am researching the TAYLOR surname......Afri-Amer Alexander
TAYLOR b. abt.1835 in Benton, Polk County, TN, married Lizzie (?), had 8
children: Susan, Alexander Jr, Joseph, Henry, Mary, Louisa, Amy and Isabella*.
Alexander moved to St. Martinville, St. Martin Parish, Louisiana and died in
New Iberia, Iberia Parish, Louisiana. I do not have date, nor do I know
Alexander's parents' names. It is possible that the TAYLORs came from one of
the Carolinas, VA, KY, MS, or AL and later moved to Tennessee. If anyone
recognizes any similarities, I have other family data to share. *Isabella
married Henry Francis (my grandparents) in St. Martinville, LA. They had 7
children: Harry married Mary Wiltz, 4 children John married Rena Henry, 3
children Daisy married Foster Fontenot, 5 children Emily married Albaree Davis,
3 children Mabel married Joseph Lee, 8 children Elizabeth married Mitchell
Pradier, 6 children Illinoise (aka: Eddie) married Sylvia Baptiste, 5 children
Both Isabella and Henry died in St.

I am searching for any records regarding my great,
grandparents, William HUGHES and Ellen Josephine RYMER, who were married in
Polk County, TN, possibly in Sweet Water or Reliance. My grandmother, Artie
Belle HUGHES, was born May 15, 1882 in Sweet Water. So, I am assuming that
William and Ellen were married in 1880/81. Ellen's mother and father were
Winnie Jane RYMER and William RYMERr, Jr. Her grandfathers were William RYMER,
Sr and King David RYMER. I do not know the names of her grandmothers. For
William Hughes I am seeking: parents, siblings, marriage and death info -
divorce dates if applicable - and any other available information. For Ellen
Josephine Rymer: her grandmothers and background on them and her grandfathers.
I am interested in the relationship of the grandfathers who were both RYMERS.
Any tidbit is appreciated!

KIRKSEY, STUDDARD, DOVER, PICKEL, GROGAN, LILLARD-I am
looking for any information on the above names within Polk or McMinn County,

very interested in sharing with anyone who has further information on these
names and am very willing to share what I have also. Sharon Dover Romanek
