Woodland Mills, in Civil District 2, was originally in District 13, Range 5, Section

Nashville and Northwestern RR (built in 1858) and the Union City-Hickman Highway. It is
north and a little west of Union City very near the Kentucky State Line. Some charter members: Swannie Burrus, J. D. Jones, Sr, Mrs. Sallie D. Jones, Dan Burrus, Jim Threlkeld, W. D. Alexander, Mrs. J. D. Jones, Mrs. Nannie Roberts, Dick Alexander, Mrs. Fannie Rice and Mrs. Susan Hefley. In 1896 this building was sold to Dan Rice and he used some of it to construct a home, which was a part of the 1940 Alex Rice home. And a larger, more modern meeting house was built on the same property. In 1925 the members sold this place to the county during a drive for consolidated schools. In 1926 they bought the old school property from the county and remodeled the building while H. C. Cox was pastor. Pastors: McGomere, Silas Jones, Burton, Beauchamp, Hughes, Rodman, Ellis, H.
