This resembles N. A. William’s desk (“secretary” that he thought came from overseas). He used this for deeds, etc., that his daughter Effie typed on an old Underwood typewriter that he would dictate to her as he paced the floor behind her. This was when Newt was County Surveyor for Morgan County. The top flap closed down over the top row of pigeon holes and locked.
