Warren Bailey Dies of Pneumonia

 

Warren Bailey, aged 24 years, two months and fifteen days, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Bailey of Lakeside, died in Army camp at Amarillo, Texas, of pneumonia on Sunday, Feb. 25.  He enlisted in the Army Air Corps eighteen months ago.

The body was to arrive in Sweetwater on Wednesday.

Surviving are his wife and two children, Loudon; his parents, Mary and Mrs. J.W. Bailey, Lakeside; four sisters, Mrs. A.M. Ghann of Chattanooga, Mrs. D.C. Hicks of Sweetwater, Mrs. Harmon McKee of Kincaid and Mrs. Everett Hashman of Indianapolis, Ind.  One sister preceded him to the grave.

Burial will be in the Sweetwater Cemetery (Westview).

Sweetwater Man Dies At Air Base in Amarillo

SWEETWATER, Tenn, Feb. 27---Pvt. Warren H. Bailey, 24, son of Mrs. and Mrs. W.J. Bailey of Sweetwater, died Sunday in the hospital at the Amarillo (Tex.) Air Base from injuries received in an accident, his family here has been informed.  The notice of death gave no details of the accident.

His body, accompanied by an army escort, will arrive here Wednesday and funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church Thursday at 3 p.m.  Burial, with military honors, will be in West View Cemetery.

Pvt. Bailey is survived by his wife, Mrs. Naomi Trotter Bailey; two children, Ronnie and Rebecca Bailey; parents, four sisters, Mrs. Everett Hashman, Indianapolis; Mrs. Harmon McKee, Vonore; Mrs. Delbert Hicks, Sweetwater, and Mrs. A.M. Gann, Chattanooga.
