community, who was killed in action in Northern Italy on Oct. 25, 1944, while
serving with the 85th Division of the 5th Army, will
arrive in Madisonville
Friday at 12:43 p.m. Funeral services
will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at New
Hope. Burial in
the church cemetery, Kyker in charge.
Survivors include a son, Roy Lee
Turpin, Madisonville; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orville V. Turpin, Vonore; a
brother, S.L. Turpin, Loudon; six sisters, Mrs. W.H. Moore, Lake Worth, Fla; Mrs. Charles Cansler, Mrs. R.H. Nichols and Miss
Juanita Turpin, Vonore; Mrs. Joe Brashears, Loudon;
Mrs. W.R. Walters, Miamisburg, Ohio, and his grandmother, Mrs. M.J. Turpin,
Lenoir City.
American Legion Posts 65 of
Madisonville and 70 of Maryville
will be in charge of military honors.
