TELLICO PLAINS, June 23--Pfc Marcus Lafayette Jenkins, Jr., 35 year old son of Mr. & Mrs. M.L. Jenkins, Sr., was killed in action in Italy June 1, the parents were notified by the War Department.

Pfc. Jenkins entered service in March 1943.  He has been overseas since Sep. 1843.  He was in business at Cincinnati, as a coal and ice dealer, when he entered service.  His father is a guard at Alcoa.

Besides his parents, he has three sisters, Mrs. G.L. LeTutours of Spring City, Mrs. Gene Cagle of Tellico Plains, Mrs. Boone Tallent of Vonore; two brothers, Pfc. Robert Jenkins, radio operator overseas for three years, and Joe Jenkins, with the Santa Fe Topeka Railroad, Winslow, Ariz.

Attorney Ray Howard Jenkins of Knoxville is a first cousin.
