At time of Will, W.G.E. was in China and returned to Tenn about 1865. James R. Cunningham was Gdn. for the Renfros. He was 53 in 1881 and says he took care of Father 4 yrs after Will was made, and his mother lived at the Cravens but Wm. G.E. paid for it. Cravens of Chattanooga. Receipt dated 13 Nov 1880, Lookout Mt., from W.M. & Harriet M.J.W. Farriss. Receipt 1868, Midway, to W.G.E. Cunningham from R. & C.E.W. Craven and Magg. J.G. Cunningham for amount bequeathed to them by father Jesse, and also for $60 for enclosing 1/2 of graves of grandfather and mother the other 1/2 being chargeable to the children of our Grandfather except $10 paid by Mrs. Sharlotty McSpadden.

Zachary who was born 2 Noc 1871. Fannie J. died 23 Apr 1873. In May 1874 Mrs. E.F. Isley was app. Gdn. to Chas. E. In Jan 1875 Isaac Benson (Major Benson) adopted Charles E. and changed his name to Edgar Benson. Then Major Benson lost his money and has not helped to support Charles or Edgar. Mrs. E.F. Isley left Monroe Co. in 1881 and now lives (1884) in Knoxville with her son, and Edgar is her grandson.
