Edith Ward & Bobbi Kirkland Russell
These abstracted records were in possession of the late Bob Taylor Lee, Sr. They were loaned to Edith for typing. The Surname index is by Joy Locke. The originals are loose records. They are fragile. You can contact our County Archivist, Jo Stakely : Jo Stakely about copy fees. It will be up to her discretion as to whether they are too fragile to copy.
Spellings of names were terrible, the name could change spelling within the same document so keep an open mind when viewing these.
There were a number of divorces included in these cases. For those, I've put in parenthesis (divorce) next to the page number.
Please excuse the typing errors.
When you find your case, you can hi-light what you want and either print "selection" or copy and paste to a word processor.
The first part is 1832-1863. The second part is 1864-1887. Use the index to find the case number and click on the applicable link. Use your back arrow to return to this page.
1832 - 1863 CHANCERY INDEX
When using the index, 01-017 aren't actual case numbers. We used these numbers to denote those without case numbers so you may find them here. So "01" is different from "1".

1864 - 1887 CHANCERY INDEX
You'll see there are a
number of cases that weren't abstracted but I put the cases and a note that you'll have to get these from the archives, see note above about that.
Many of these cases continued for quite awhile, so you need to find those cases
that involve the same people, perhaps those we don't have an abstract for are
under another case number.
