    Searching for the family of Frederick Fishburn and wife Nancy Boheler, married in 1807 and Christopher Fishburn married Mary Bandy. These families moved from Allen County, Ky. to Smith County, Tn. and were listed in the 1820 census. The area where they lived became Macon County about 1842. I am also trying to find information on three of their sisters. Maria Christina Fishburn, born Feb. 1790 and married Elijah Blakenship, Elisabeth Fishburn born Jan. 1794 and married Nathan Simmons and Barbara Fishburn born Dec. 1795 and married Joel Cliburn. Need Available info on all,especially on COOPER,Jona thon.Date of birth, death and Whowas his wife.All resided in Smith County prior to 1812.Meredith enlisted in a Tennessee Regiment and served until 27 Jan. 1814. He was wounded in the battle of Talledega on 9 Nov. 1813 while fighting Indians,who were British Allies. He served under Capt. Anthony Metcalf and Col. T. McCrory or Col. Lauderdale. He received a bounty of 40 acres and later another grant of 120 acres. I have additional information on Meredith, Ambrose and their families that I am willing to share.   • MCCLELLAND, SEAY, WILLIAMS My grgrandmother Anro Berta McClelland was married to Paul Clay Williams and they lived in Macon Co. 1860-1930's. Parents of Anro are John McClelland and Louisa (Louise) Seay. I have been unable to find anything about them, where they came from whether Smith Co. Tn or possibly Ky. Anro supposedly had brothers Albert, Charlie, John, sisters Sarah and Susan. I found a John Q.A. McClelland on the 1850 Macon census with wife Louisa, but on the 1860 census they don't have any children that look like the ones I am searching for.     8/16/98 CARL BARGER (cbarger@seark.net) Hello: My name is Carl Barger. I am researching my Gr-Gr-Grandfather, Allen BARGER and his wife Nancy BULLOCK. I would like to know if Nancy BULLOCK may have come from your county. I think she may have married Allen BARGER sometime around 1830-35. Allen lived in BLEDSOE Co. during the 1837-39 years. He and Nancy had two children that were listed in the 1840 federal census for Ripley Co. Mo. Both children gave that they were born in Tn. I would like any information on either Allen or Nancy. Also, on John BARGER and Pointer BARGER who also were in Bledsoe Co. in the 1840 federal census. I also think that Nancy's father may have been Joseph BULLOCK.     WALLACE-WALLIS Need any information on Andrew WALLIS/WALLACE. He married Margaret CALBREATH in 1796 in Augusta County, Virginia. Andrew and Margaret were present in Augusta, VA for the settlement of Margaret's father's estate, Thomas Calbreath (also s pelled Galbraith), in 1801. Nothing is known of them until the 1830 census where Margaret appears as the head of household in Smith County Tennessee suggesting Andrew was deceased prior to 1830. Andrew and Margaret had a son, who I am descended from, named Thomas M. WALLIS/WALLACE. He was born in 1805 and claims Smith/Macon County, TN. as his place of birth. Thomas M. WALLIS/WALLACE married Jane CALBREATH, his cousin, in ca. 1825.Thomas M. WALLIS/WALLACE appears in census of 1840, 1850, as head of household with Margaret as a member of his household.     Taylor Claiborne HANES (22 Mar 1846-14 Dec 1897) married 18 Apr 1869 to Dollie ATKERSON (3 Dec 1841-27 jul 1873), widow of Bluford Creasy with a son, Orlando Creasy. They had a son, Robert E. Lee HANES 7 Jul 1870-6Apr 1934. They lived at Alton Hill (now part of Lafayette) Macon Co. TN. I haven't found marriage license or Census for them in 1870. By 1880 Dollie had died and Taylor married Martha Susan Carr and they had a son, Bailey. By 1890 they had moved to Butler Co., KS. Any information on Hanes or Atkerson (any spellings) during this time would be appreciated/

  • SCOTT, GENTRY, GREER
    I am trying to locate some information on my family. I know that my Great Grandmother Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" SCOTT was born in Macon County Tennessee 2-2-1882, one of eight children. Her parents were Thomas Scott(arrived in America at the age of 6 years from Scotland) and Bettie Gentry(born and reared on Barren River, four miles from Gamaliel)-my Great Great Grandfather was killed at the steam mill he worked in at Gamaliel when he was 66 years old. Bettie then moved her family to Whitleyville Tennessee where she washed and ironed for a living. Thank you for any help. Tereva Lacy
