The death of Mrs. C. S. BALL came as a shock to her many friends and relatives. She was sick only six days, but suffered severely. She was 77 years of age and had been a member of the Methodist Church at Concord since 1870 and lived a Christian life. She was the mother of eight children, four of whom are now living: J. H. BALL, of Blytheville, AR., Mrs. D. F. AKIN, of Woodville, Mrs. C. H. POINDEXTER, of Forked Deer, and Alvin A. BALL, of Curve. She also reared from childhood two grandsons: F. M. LUCAS and Emmitt WHITE. She leaves to mourn her death; husband; children; relatives and a host of friends.

He was retired, after 52 years, a Southern Baptist Minister and a volunteer Chaplain for Baptist Memorial Hospital-Lauderdale. Rev. Criner served as pastor for several churches in Newport, AR, Weiner, AR, Memphis, Alamo, TN, and Ripley. He was currently a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. Rev. Criner is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rubye Walton Criner; two sons, William Carl "Butch" Criner of Ripley, Chaplain Lt. Col. Pete Criner of Washington, D.C.; a nephew, Jimmy Criner, five grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. The family requests that any memorials be sent to either Trinity Cemetery at Nutbush or Walnut Grove Cemetery.

His companion passed away in 1884. He was again married in 1887 to Mrs. Ida STOKES. To this union four children were born. Bro. WILSON professed faith in Christ when he was about 48 years old he joined the Concord Methodist Church and later moved to Curve M. E. Church. Bro WILSON leaves to mourn his death, 7 children; a kind wife and companion and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Concord Church by Rev. W. B. RALPH and Rev. L. R. WADSWORTH, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery behind the church.

Leonard Olin 'Woody' Wood, 71, of Somerville, retired employee of the Corps of Engineers, died of heart failure Monday at National Healthcare Center of Fayette County in Somerville. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home in Somerville with burial in Concord Cemetery in Halls, Tenn. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Edith, Tenn. Mr. Wood, the husband of Edith Fay Dobson Wood, also leaves two daughters, Wilda Wilson and Betty Stewart, both of Somerville, 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
