This is a correction, addition and update to the Rogers material on this message board. I am including the marriage dates if known and other important data. 

William Rogers died on or before 1826.  

Sarah Sharp King’s parents were: James King and Isabella Berry. 

Martha Jane Rogers married James WILSON Ross on 10/24/1885. James Wilson Ross died in1872. 

Pleasant Rogers was born 11/29/1801 and Sarah Spicer was born 12/29/1806.  

Pherrell Vincent Rogers married Margaret Wells on 6/1/1853. 

Thomas Monroe Simpson’s parents were Daniel Simpson who married Rebecca McKinney.

Thomas and Cora Simpson had: Walter, Ike, Lonnie, Alice, Addie, Minnie, Carter, Lon, Spicer, Sammie, Nellie and Hugh. 

James Spicer Rogers died 2/25/1906. James and Minnie Young whose parents were John Young and Parlee Cooley had Vincent and Laura Willie.  

Hugh Lucas married Mary Jane “Jennie” Craney whose parents were Frank Craney from London England and Mary Sullivan from Ireland.  

Emma “Eunice” Rogers married Michael Bailey Connelly on 11/27/1889. They had Bailey, Ellen, Emma, and M.J. Connelly (1899-1899). 

Pherrell Vincent Pybass married Nancy Emily Pybass on 6/16/1881.  

Lucille Vincent Rogers married Edward Willis Thomas on 11/7/1913. They had Edward Willis, Pherrell Vincent (my father) and Nancy Jane Thomas. 

Robert Pybass Rogers married Eudora Macaw on 3/17/1913.  

Paulina Vaughn Rogers married William Bate Anderson whose parents were Andrew Coter Anderson and Margaret Hooper on 6/16/1913. (no children) 

Phobe Hickman was born 2/25/1812 and she married Pleasant Rogers on 2/16/1821. They had 1) Eady/Edie Caroline (12/13/1832-2/9/1906) who married Robert Prather (1829-6/23/1906) on 5/5/1847. They had Henrietta (1848-) who married Samuel Rodgers and they had Samuel Pleasant Rodgers (7/29/1868-) married Arpy Jane Lyons whose parents were George Washington Lyons and Lucy Caroline Gardner. Henrietta married J.M. Tittle after Samuel Rodgers death, Richard C. who married a 1) Lenora??, 2)Gerorgia Ann Rogers and they had Minnie who married a Turner and 3) Harttie Carr and they had Callie who married a Cunningham , Margaret J.(1855-) who married a Parks, Robert F., Samuel K., Howard L., Georgia Ella (1/15/1869-) who married Leroy Robinson whose parents were William Robinson and Malinda ??? and Thomas W. Prather who married E.B. ??: they had Charles D. Prather when she died he married Henrietta Dickerson and they had Wesley L. and Vickie B. Prather. 2.) George William Rogers was born 12/6/1842-died 10/1889 and the children born to this union were: Texas married Matthew “Mack” Warren, Phoebe (1878-1925) married William Oliver Richard, Pleasant Levi (1880-1930) married Ida Dorris, Amanda (1886-1943) married James D. Warren, Mary Caroline married William Payne and John Culbertson, William James (1874-1892/1900), Georgie Ann (1876-1896), and Cora (1882-1946) married Milton Davis.

3.) Martha A. Rogers was born on 1/18/1841. 4.) Chasey/Chacey/Chacy Jane Rogers married William A. Peck on 4/8/1858 and he was born on 1/18/1830. The children according to Woodrow Peck’s Bible are: George A. (6/4/1859-), George B. N. (10/12/1860-), John M. (1116/1862-), William Jasper (9/15/1865-), Robert Pheril (10/9/1867-), Pleasant B. (3/2/1871-), and Emanuel H. Peck (7/18/1874-).  

 

Mary Elizabeth Jackson married a Legate. And had 12 children with 6 living to adulthood. They are listed in prior posting. 

William Henry Rogers married Nancy Miranda May on 12/19/1880. 

Stella Ann Rogers married R. Emmett McKelvey on 10/5/1912. 

Ollie Brownie Rogers married William Edward Baird on 7/25/1916. 

William Henry Rogers married Dosha/Docia/Doshia Price on 3/8/1868. 

Joseph Henry White whose father was I.C. White married Mary Ida Rogers. 

Hester A. Rogers married Jacob “Jake” Beasley. 

William Pherrell Rogers married Georgia Nelson on 9/9/1873. 

John Layfette Rogers married Mored Hutcherson.  

Jesse George Rogers married C. Mae Luten in 1917. 

Hattie Rogers married James Wright Pardue on 8/10/1908. 

Lena J. Rogers married R.B. Brake on 3/7/1897. 

James Allen Rogers married Mary Teas on 1/6/1845 and he died on 7/10/1871 and she died 12/31/1851. 

William James Rogers married Martha Jane Pemberton on 10/1/1878. They had the following children: Andrew, Katherine, Elsie, Albert, Edward, William Oscar, Laura Estelle, and Paul Jones Rogers. 

James Allen Rogers married Nancy Elizabeth Cannon (3/11/1828-4/11/1906) on 1/1/1853. 

Nancy Jane Rogers married George Simpson on 9/23/1874.  

Mary Blount Rogers married William Simpson on 8/24/1871. 

Martha Rogers married James Ladd on 7/25/1877. 

Henry H. Rogers married Mary Alice Luten on 1/27/1883, Sallie James on 1/20/1886 and Ollie B. James on 1/29/11896. 

Dennis “Dee” Rogers married Belle sanders Hailey on 3/22/1903. 

Jesse E. Rogers married Caline Beasley on 3/29/1888. 

I am including the census records for this family. A female is not included since I cannot verify her marriage. It can be Martha Ann Rogers married Michael MacMackin or a Southern. I have no proof on either person. MacMackins lived on Indian Creek North of Tumbling Creek in Hickman/Humphreys County. I can find no Southerns in either the 1820 or 1830 Tennessee census.
