GRIFFIN, LANGLEY, CAPPS
Desperately seeking parents of George W. GRIFFIN born 18 Dec
1858
from what I show and supposedly was from Henry Co., TN. George
GRIFFIN married Martha LANGLEY about 1884 probably Weakley Co.,
TN or
perhaps Carroll Co., TN. They had two children: Charlie Adam
Griffin
b. Nov 1885 and Callie (girl) Griffin born Oct 1886. Martha died
Oct.
1886 and George remarried in 1892 to Ida CAPPS and had many more
children.
1870 Census, 12th District, Weakley Co., TN, page 199; shows a
Mary
GRIFFIN as head of house and 30 yrs old and born TN. Living with
her
and all born TN are George (male, 11), Franklin {Frank}
(male,9),
Frances (female, 6), and the last name appears to be Marry
(female,
2).
I have a dilemma with George W. GRIFFIN. Who were his parents?
Was
Mary GRIFFIN, listed in the 1870 Census really his mother?
Family
tradition isn't sure. They say that George was born in possibly
Henry Co., or some County near there. HELP!

NEWTON, UPDATE
I posted a query in February of this year. I am proud to say my
query has been answered in June. Thanks to a Mr. John Robinson,
formerly of Puryear, TN. Without the use of your query page my
search would not have been fruitful. My father who is now 73 was
able to contact his "special nurse" (she is now 70) and
was able
to
talk with her and let her know he had never forgotten her and
all
that she did for him (she also remembered him). My father lost
his
right arm due to a car wreck when he was only 26 years old. I
want
to send a special thanks to all involved in making this page and
also
to Mr. Robinson for taking the time to respond. Thanks to All.
