William FITZGERALD is listed in Hawkins County, Tennessee, Stray Master’s Books 1787-1791. He married Mary GIBBONS. His three known children are Nancy, Garrett, and Elizabeth. Nancy married James ISHAM, Garrett married Elizabeth ROTON, and Elizabeth married first Mr. BABB and second Mr. UNDERWOOD. These people moved to White County before 1820. Does anyone know the parents of William FITZGERALD or James ISHAM? Thanks

Thomas Majors lived in Hawkins, Tenn. after the Revolutionary War. He was living there in the 1830 Census. Shortly after 1830, he moved to Madison County, Ky. where he died in the 1860’s. His wife was Rebecca but I do not know her maiden name. His daughter Biddy Majors was my gggrandmother. She married George Kinnard on July 15, 1834. If anyone knows of Thomas Majors especially who his parents, were and any brothers or sisters of Thomas, please share this info with me. I would be happy to share what I have on the Majors family. I am interested in any information on my g-grandfather Issac Hatfield, born 1878 and g-grandmother, Frona (Mathis) Hatfield, born 1881. What property did they own, where they were from, birth records, etc.? They were residents of Hawkins Co., near Sneedville on Swan Creek Road. I believe Issac’s Father and Mother was George Hatfield and Vickia Hatfield. Any information on them would also be very much appreciated. I am not sure whether George Hatfield owned any land? Or where he was from?

I am searching for the parents of George Aaron SPROUL b.Apr.13, 1827 in or near Rogersville, Hawkins, Tn. Various spellings I’ve come across: SPROUL/SPROULE/SPROWL. The 1830 census lists a Thomas Sprowl that is a possibility. George Aaron’s death cert. only lists his father as __Sproule and mother’s maiden name as __WELLS. If there are no birth records, what about church christening records. What churches were in the area in the 1820’s? Thank You.

McMahan; Mary M., b. 1847, married Osiah Worley; Lucy V., b. 1849, married C.L. Prater; Matilda C., b. 1849; James P., b. 1852; George Washington, b. 1856 (our line) married Ruth Ann Melton and had 5 children; Tabitha E., b. 1858. My Maternal Grandfather, Dan Gibson, said he/his family were from eastern Tennessee. He told of walking out of Tennessee into KY in the late 1800’s with his two brothers Matt and Pear. The 1900 Census shows them living with a Hughes family in Knott Co., Ky. His father was possibly “Buck” Gibson and his mother possibly a “Hughes”. Trying to link my Clouds to the early Clouds who settled in Pennsylvania Colony as part of William Penn’s experiment. Have a clear line of my Clouds who settled in Harlan County KY thru to Benjamin Franklin, but it gets pretty fuzzy after that. Thanks for any help or direction!

Looking for information on Dawson Turner LAMB. He married Permelia “Millie” Cope on 4-15-1855 in Sneedville, Hancock Co. Dawson and Millie had 16 children. Dawson’s first married Geminia Jackson in Claiborne Co. on 7-15-1850. Can not find him and Geminia on the 1850 Census. Did he and Geminia have any children? He is listed as Doss T. Lamb on the 1860 Census. Sometimes before 1870 he moved his family to Owsley Co., KY. He died 6-19-1904 in Livingston, Rockcastle Co., KY. Does anyone know who Dawson’s parents are or his siblings?

Looney, William (Gravelly Bill) – Looking for any information on William (b. 1803 in Hawkins Co., Tenn.) Tradition has it that he was born out of wedlock by his mother Sarah Felkner and William (b. 1784) Looney. Gravelly Bill’s father, William went on to Randolph Co., Arkansas and is easily traceable. They had at least 11 children: Mary ANDERSON – b.8-17-1804; Elijah ANDERSON – b.1-2-1807; Ezekial ANDERSON – b.5-22-1809; Martha ANDERSON – b. 4-22-1811; Emelia ANDERSON – b.9-25-1813; Ann ANDERSON – b. 12-18-1815; George ANDERSON – b.9-10-1818; Matilda ANDERSON – b.4-16-1821; Elizabeth ANDERSON – b. 1-22- 1823; Moses ANDERSON – b.2-22-1825; and Simeon ANDERSON – b.1-24-1827.
