(?) — 7th) Henry That is the first generation for which I have info. Ulrich Lieb who married Elizabeth Huber may be an ancestor of mine. His son Daniel is the one for whom I seek information. He is believed to have moved to Hawkins County with brother John and on to McDonough County, Illinois. Daniel was married to Elizabeth (Dougherty?) Cemetery records indicate that Daniel was born in York Co. Penn. QUESTION: Are there any cousins out there that may have information about Daniel, Elizabeth his wife, or George W. Starnes regarding their parents, brothers and sisters? I have a bit more info, but nothing definitive to verify that my Daniel Leib/Lipe is for sure son of Ulrich II. (Based on tombstone, Daniel Leib/Lipe was born about October 1765.)

Jones, Shanks
“Green” (a/k/a Greenville, Greenberry, and possibly John G.) JONES was born in Virginia on 20 Jun 1829. He came to Hawkins Co., TN in 1858 and was married in Rogersville on 23 Jan 1860 to Mary Jane SHANKS. I have the SHANKS ancestry documented back three more generations and thousands to present. “Green” Jones POB and parentage remains unknown to me. His eldest son’s D/C (Henry Clay Jones, from whom I descend) lists his father’s POB as “Withersville, WVA”; another descendant of this family cites an oral history as Tazewell Co., VA, but not documentation. “Withersville” does not exist; research in Wytheville (Wythe Co., Western VA) did not show results. Since Mary Jane SHANKS ancestors originally came from Greenbrier Co. in what is now WVA to Hawkins Co. in 1803, there may be a link there; a “Betsy Jones” also shows up in a will: Green’s mother?
