Will of Emily Richardson Stricklin

I would love to know more about Emily Richardson Stricklin and her mother Mary Richardson, who I would love to know more about. No one knows where she came from or who she was married to.  She just turned up in 1820's Hardin County with a daughter and two sons and bought some land from Isham Cherry, part of which is still in the family today.  Ron Stricklin

Being sound in mind and memory (blessed be Almighty God) I make and declare this my last Will and Testament in matter and form as follows: 1st I give and bequeath to Andrew Stricklin my grey filly; also my two mules and wagon with harness; also my molasses mill, one bed and bed clothing for the same.

I give to my beloved daughter Mary Milligan all my clothing (except the beds otherwise mentioned) to have and to hold during her natural life and at her death to go to Andrew Stricklin. Also I will to my daughter Rebecca Petty my cupboard and part of my shelf ware. Also I will my son Samuel Stricklin five dollars of the money he is due me by account and the balance due me from him to be paid over to Andrew Stricklin for his use and benefit. Also I will to my son Joseph Stricklin five dollars of the money he is due me which is twelve dollars and fifty cents and the balance after deducting five dollars to be paid Andrew Stricklin for his use and benefit. Further I will that all of my hogs and cattle be sold at private sale, except such as Andrew Stricklin

wants to keep for his own use, and out of the proceeds of such as are sold my funeral expenses are to be paid. The balance of the proceeds of money to be equally devided between my brother Alexander Richardson, Andrew Stricklin, and my daughter Mary Milligan. And the balance of money coming from the estate of A.D. Harrison deceased I will to Andrew Stricklin except the portion that is going to Alexander Richardson. And lastly I appoint my brother Alexander Richardson and Andrew Stricklin my Exectutors to this my last will and Testament revoking all former wills by me made in witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and affixed my seal this July the 16th, 1880

Personally appeared before me, H. R. Hinkle, Clerk of the County Court of said County, H. H. Cherry and Mathew Davis subscribing witnesses to the attached instrument, who being first duly sworn, depose and say that they are personally acquainted with Emily Stricklin the bargainer; and that she acknowledged the same in their presence to be her act and deed, for the purpose therein contained.
