MOUNT

Glenna Stanhouse Mon Jul 2 12:31:58 2007
I am searching for the biological parents of my Grandmother, born Emma MOUNT in Ooltewah, TN, either January 20, 1902 or 1903. Emma and George (born January 20, 1901) were taken to an orphanage in the area by their father. Their mother had been pregnant with twins, as family legend has it, but had died in childbirth. No one knows whether the twins survived. Emma and her brother George were taken in by a couple named James and Annie GLEN at the ages of 2 and 4, respectively, and raised in the Graysville/Dayton area. George kept the name MOUNT into adulthood, but Emma used the name GLEN on her marriage license. There is no record of a legal adoption in Nashville records (Dept. of Children's Svcs.). Emma married Joseph VARNES 4/26/1919 and had 5 children, one of which was my Mother, who has asked me to research this for her.
