Stewart Cemetery


The Stewart Cemetery is seven miles from Chattanooga. Follow highway # 64 to the Tunnel Boulevard, going one half mile to Wilcox Boulevard, then follow Greenwood Avenue for one mile. The land for the cemetery was given by William Stewart. About thirty three people are buried here, and there are twenty four unmarked graves, some being very old.

Teague, David - Nov 28, 1864 - Nov 28, 1890 (Was burned to death in a pan of scalding water.)
Teague, David - April 5, 1827 - Jan 17, 1891
Ellis, Margret - Oct 23, 1870 - Aug 2, 1930
Ellis, W - Aug 23, 1870 - Nov 25, 1931
Shell, Mary - Aug 22, 1830 - Sept 21, 1911 - 'On the happy golden shore where the faithful part no more. Meet me there.' Your mother -
Richard, Rebecca - May 1, 1798 - May 7, 1904 - 'Thou wilt show me the path of life in thy presence; its fulliness of joy at thy right hand there are pleasure for every one.'
