Rebecca F McMillen  February 27, 1843-February 21, 1923  Mother

Samuel McMillen January 8, 1840-January 15, 1928  Father

Rebecca Frances Measles was the daughter of William and Nancy Barger Measles. She was born February 27, 1843 in DeKalb Co, TN. She died February 21, 1923  of a virus and lobar pneumonia The informant on her death certificate was Jim McMillin. Burial was on February 22. There is an inscription on the tombstone, can’t read it all:
“Be we ready such an hour as ____ not the Son of Man cometh.”

Sam McMillen was born January 8, 1840 to Bill and Jane Vanatta McMillen.  He married Rebecca Francis Measles. He died on January 15, 1928 in Liberty, DeKalb, TN. The informant on his death certificate was Lum McMillin. Notice that the spelling on the death certificate was with the “in” ending instead of “en”. Also, in earlier records the name was McMullen.

Their children were:

(1) James W. December 1862- 1927, md. Annie Butterbaugh, buried here

(2) W R McMillan as he is listed on his Wilson Co., TN death certificate. The "W" seems in error. His Wilson Co., TN death certificate states he was son of these parents and born in DeKalb Co., TN. He was born Feb 20, 1865, Alexandria and died June 23, 1938 Milton, Wilson, TN, bur: Prosperity Cem in Wilson Co., TN. He is the same person as Rastus and McADew [b. abt. 1866] on the 1870 and 1880 censuses. His full name was Rastus [or Erastus at times] McAdoo "Tobe" McMillen. He married 1st Alta Neal [April 1881-aft. 1910] on Dec. 22, 1898 in Wilson Co., TN. and lived in DeKalb Co. until he moved to Dist. 13, Wilson Co. by 1910. He married 2nd Theodocia "Docia" (Fite) Tenpenny [Aug. 21, 1888-June 19, 1975] on June 15, 1919 in Wilson Co., TN.
