Hudson W Gibbs
1902-1939
Hudson W Gibbs was the son of James A Gibbs and Martha Martin Gibbs. He
was born in 1902 and died in 1939, according to his tombstone. His
death certificate and his WWI draft application give his name as Hudson
White Gibbs, and states his birth date as December 4, 1892. The stone
is in error. The death certificate also gives his death date as
December 23, 1939 in Alexandria, DeKalb, TN. It also gives his
occupation as a produce man. He died of lobar pneumonia. In the 1910
census of DeKalb Co, TN Hudson is 17 years of age, which would have
made his birth year, about 1892 or 1893. He married Ruby Foutch as her
second marriage, date unknown, who was
born abt. 1894 the daughter of Ambrose Foutch and Ophelia Sandlin.
Ruby's first marriage was to a Griffith, with whom she had a daughter
named Helen. Hudson and Ruby had no children.
