Duke’s Chapel Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee

Grave Marker of Wm. Lacy

Detail of lettering
This believed to be lost grave marker of William Lacy, Revolutionary War veteran (died 1836), has recently been rediscovered by Bret Arnold at Duke’s Chapel Cemetery in Henderson County, Tennessee. The early local-made style of this marker is seen in the horizontal guidelines for letters in the top two lines and the small tool mark from a divider in the center of the letters O and C, and in the numeral 8.
