DEED FROM Rhoda Huff TO W.E. Banks

This indenture, made this 20th day of February A.D. 1920 between Rhoda Huff of Del Rio, Cocke County, in the State of Tennessee, of the first part, and W.E. Banks and wife Nora Banks of Del Rio, Tenn of the second part, WITNESSETH: That the said parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of $350.00 Three Hundred and fifty dollars to her in hand paid by the said parties of the second part, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, has granted, bargained, sold, and conveyed , and do hereby grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said parties of the second part, the following described premises, to-wit, situated in District No. one a certain tract or parcel of Land Lying on the waters of Middle fork and Bounded as follows.

Beginning on a Small Black oak on top of a Ridge Between W. H. Rindland and Rhoda Huff, Pointed by a W Poplar an 4 chestnuts, thence along the top of Said Ridge, S. 83. W 7. Poles to a Small Black oak. Thence N. 78. W. 20 Poles to a Red Oak. Thence S. 80. W. 19 Poles to a Large Chestnut. Thence S. 55 1/2 W 30 Poles to a Stake. Thence S. 22 1/2 W. 14 Poles to a W. Hickory on a Ledge of Rock Comes to John Messer and W. H. Rindland Thence with Messers line along the side of the Mountains Tiv (?) courses (?) to a Stake on top of a ridge Comes to John Messer and Thence down the Ridge with Stephen Brooks line various degrees and crossing Middle fork Creek To a Large Spruce Pine on original line of Ruben Justus, deceased. Thence with Said Justus line along the Side of the Middle fork Mountain not far from the Middle fork Creek to a Stake on Line of Royal Justus Heirs Below Rhoda Huffs House, Thence with a continual Line between W. H. Stokely and Ruben Justus, Now Heirs of Royal Justus Deceased, bearing North 5, W. 63 Poles to the Beginning, containing 30 acres, More or Less with the hereditaments and appurtenances hereto appertaining, hereby releasing all claim to homestead and dower therein.

To have and to hold the said premises to the said parties of the second part, their heirs and assigns, forever. And the said party of the first part, for herself and for her heirs, executors, and administrators, does here covenant with the said parties of the second part their heirs and assigns, that she is lawfully seized in fee-simple of the premises above conveyed, and has full power, authority and right to convey they same that said premises are free from all incumbrances and that she will forever warrant and defend the said premises and the title thereto against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. In witness whereof the said party of the first part has hereunto set her hand and seal the day and year first above written.
