Elijah Fox served in Company C, 8th Regiment, Tennessee Volunteer Infantry. He died 8-27-1864 in Marietta, GA of wounds received in a skirmish near Atlanta.
Elijah Fox married Caroline Boswell 7-1-1849 in Cocke County; they were married by William Buckner, J.P., in the house of her father.

Their children:
They lived at her house on the farm of John Thomas in the 4th Civil District. Mary A. Ellis and Joseph Breeden of the 4th Civil District witnessed her signature 9-17-1869.

4-2-1866 - Daniel Driskill and William Worth witnessed Caroline's signature.

10-11-1869 - Penelope Fox and Emily Crumley swore that Caroline Fox was the widow of Elijah, who served in the military and that they had the four children above.

Caroline died 3-8-1907.

Mary A. Ellis Sr and Elizabeth Dawson were nurses at the birth of Caroline's children. They signed with an "X", witnessed by Mary A. Ellis and Temperence E. Freshour.
