Looking for descendents of Chesley Dobbs born 1749 VA. Went to NC and to Clairborn County TN had a large family. I have done a good bit on this family. Would like to share?

Looking for JOSEPH FRANKLIN COOK from Claireborne Co Tenn. Married SARAH JANE KECK IN Knox Co Tenn. He was born in 1869 to 1874 Family bible says 1869 and cencus says 1872or74.Joseph was connected to Keck and Goin in this county. Been looking for 20yrs .

Joel Dobbs married Sarah Morgan ca 1814 in Clairborne Ct. Had brothers and sisters in Claiirborne Ct. Sis Mary married Thomas England in NC moved to Clairborn Ct ca 1806. Other sisters married into the Markum family. Need parents of Sarah Morgan. Need anything on sibs of Joel. Who is Jesse Dobbs on the 1830's tax records. Other names associated with this family are BIAS HURST PARKER WRIGHT.

I am researching the surnames BUIS, MARCUM and RICHARDSON in the Tazewell, Claiborne County. These families moved there from Tazewell County, Virginia in the early 1800's.

Looking for info on JOHN ELLINGTON, who came to Claiborne from VA around 1812 and left around 1843. Had 2 sons that I know of, NATHAN and WILLIAM. JOHN was married to MARTHA LEMARR and I would really like to know about this family. She may have been born BOROFF. She died between 1830 and 1840 in Claiborne. Any info on these families would be appreciated!

I need information on THOMAS ESTES who died in Lawrence Co., TN. 10 September 1833, and his descendants. He was born in VA about 1760, served in the Revolution from VA and NC, moved to Washington Co., NC (Tennessee)around 1881, lived in Granger Co., for several years around other Estes kin and he fathered children, moved on to Franklin then Lawrence Counties. I believe he was father to John, Floyd, and others.

John SPROULS born 1822, died 1900, married Sarah Boels or Bolls born 1824, died 1912. Sixteen children, fourth Issac Benjamen Sprouls who was my greatgrandfather. His son John Houston Sprouls was my grandfather who was born in Claiborne Co. in 1880 and died in Fort Worth, Texas in 1960. Any info on the SPROULS, SPROLES will be welcome.

January 21, 1997 Please Help if you can,seeking any information about my family from claiborne county Tn. Willis and Collins family, Specifically Jim Willis 03/1883 - 11/1971 and Minnie "Collins" Willis 08/1903 - 07/1956 She was killed. Her last name at the time of her death was Mallicoat. They are burried at Claiborne County. I have a little information about them but nothing about their parents etc. I am told she was part Native American. .Am interested in their family groups.

Ousley, John John Ousley who served with Capt. Porterfield in the American Revolution has been reinstated as a patriot in the DAR records. Descendants of John Ousley are elgible for DAR membership. DAR members can now add John Ousley to their records by filing a supplemental. His service record shows he served in October of 1777.John was born in Loudoun Co., VA 6 Nov 1757, died in Claiborne Co., TN 19 Dec 1845.

SEARCHING FOR JOHN COOLEY B 1868, IN THE 1880 TN CENSUS HE IS IN HIS FATHER'S, JOHN F. COOLEY AND CATHERINE MCCLANAHAN COOLEY HOME IN WHITE COUNTY TN. BY 1900 JOHN HAS MOVED. HE WAS A COAL MINER AND HAD A HALF SISTER THAT MARRIED A HODGE THAT LIVED NEAR PLEASANT HILL, TN. SHE HAD A LETTER FROM HIM IN THE EARLY 1900'S STATING HE HAD BEEN WORKING IN A COAL MINE IN EAST TENNESSEE AND THAT THERE HAD BEEN A BIG CAVE IN BUT THAT HE WAS OKAY. I am looking for anyone doing research on Surgenor line. My great grandmother was a Isbelle Surgenor born abt 1874 where? died December 26, 1939 in Harlan Co, Ky. Married Will Henry Warren December 22, 1893 in Knox Co, Ky. On her marriage bond it list her parents as Steve and Mary Surgenor. One of my family members remembers her having a first cousin in Claiborne Co, Tn but can't remember the name and help appreciated.

Would like to correspond with anyone having informtion on the families of Valentine and Charlotte YOAKUM and Peter and Sarah YOAKUM. They moved to ROANE County in the 1820's from CLAIBORNE County and Valentine died there about 1829. His widow appears in the 1830 census next door to Valentine's brother, Peter. They both had large families. I have vast amount of information on this family in CLAIBORNE County and before they settled in Tennessee from Virginia. Valentine went by the nickname "Felty" YOAKUM. His brother, George YOAKUM, II., was in MONROE County at this time. They were children of George YOAKUM, I., and Martha VAN BEBBER. Any information would be appreciate greatly.

Thomas GAMBILL married SUSHEY (Suckey) BREWER April 8 1780 in Wilkes Co NC. BY 1799 they were in Grainger Co, TN. Thomas was a well know citizen in Wilkes Co. I have found nothing on Thomas or his wife in TN. I need to know what happened to these people. I need to know the names of any children they had. Looking for information on the MEDLEY/MEDLIN family of Greene County. My gGrandfather was James P. Medley, b1852 His father was Cullan/J. C. Medley, his father was Bryant Medley. Any information you might have on this family would be most appreciated. I think Cullan died Abt 1870, his wife Elizabeth remarried, James P. did not get along with his step-father, he left TN and came to TX married Mary Melissa Wilson in 1874. He and Mary traveled to MO where their first child was born in 1876.

Medley was counted on the 1870 Census of Union County, TN Dwelling No. 28 Family No. 88, Post Office Sharps Chaple J.C. Seeking info for the Lane family of Claiborne County. I can trace my family to William H. Lane b.28 NOV 1844 d.16 APR 1906. I know that his parents were Washington Lane and Margaret Smith. Trying to see if Washington Lane is linked to Isaac Lane the first chairman of Claiborne and Tidence Lane who started the first Baptist Church in the new Tennessee area.
