Confederate Calvary Company: Robert D. Anderson

Robert D. Anderson, formerly of the 20th Tennessee Infantry, having been discharged for disability, after recovering his health, raised a company of cavalry early in 1863 and reported to Colonel W. S. Hawkins, of Wheeler’s Scouts. He was captured in October, 1863, and upon being exchanged in March 1864, returned to Middle Tennessee and raised another company of cavalry and reported to Colonel Jacob B. Biffle. He was paroled at Gainesville, Alabama as captain of Company “F,” 9th Tennessee Cavalry, which was Colonel Biffle’s 9th Consolidated Tennessee Cavalry Regiment.
