Born July 15, 1824, parents James Matterson Brewington and Blessary Smith Brewington. Married Sarah “Sally” Adams lived at Willow Grove , Overton County, died after 1911, buried in Clay County Tn. Fought in battles at Neelys Bend, Franklin, Parkers Crossroads, Triune, Stones River and Murfreesboro. Sent home after catching measles between Chattanooga and Dalton Ga.
