Calvary Company: ALEXANDER, (Captain) D.F.

Rennolds’ History of Henry County Commands says that D. F. Alexander, formerly in the 2nd Tennessee Infantry Regiment, and then Captain Company “I,” Tennessee Cavalry, after his company was broken up, organized another troop in 1864 which served as escort company to Brigadier General Hylan B. Lyon on the raid which Lyon made during the winter of 1864-1865, starting in Southern Kentucky, through Middle Tennessee to North Alabama. No muster roll of the company was found.
