I am searching for Margaret Roland or Jeremiah Roland. Jeremiah Roland was listed on the 1860 US Census for Henderson County but maybe that is part of Chester now. I can not find him after 1860. His wife Margeret Pile Roland was listed with him in 1860 but in 1870 she is listed in Henderson as a widow with a nine year old son. I can not find her after 1870. In 1880 I found her son John in Mississippi with a Long family working as a farm laborer. I have written to Chester and McNairy family without luck so maybe they were living in the part of Henderson that is now Chester. Please help if you have any information. Brenda

I’m trying to link Robert Young, Sr. a revolution war veteran credited with killing General Ferguson a battle of King’s Mount- ain, SC to my most distant known relative, John Theodore Young who is buried in the “Sweet Lips” cemetery in Chester, Co. Robert Young, Sr. died in far eastern TN where he held land. The name “Sweet Lips” is the common thread. Robert Sr. used a rifle he called “Sweet Lips” during the war. I believe that my ancestors named the town “Sweet Lips” in honor of their great- grand father Robert, Sr.
