Post Office

Submitted by Helen L Smith Hoke

I have a picture of a Post Office that I am trying to get info on. The only thing I know about it is what my father has told me. I guess there were buildings in the way before they opened the waters to Norris Dam. They were giving away all the building to people if they would haul them off the property. My father and one of his brothers went to get the Postoffice thinking it would make a nice addition to the Boys room. There was 4 boys sleeping in one room and the older boys wanted their own private place. But once they got it home they decided to just use it as a club house to play cards and ect. I also know that it was later used as a house for my Aunt and her husband. I would like to know any history on it before my father and Uncle saved it from it's watery grave. It is still standing on the Homestead.
