Personals (June 17, 1882)

The following items appeared in the June 17, 1882 issue of the Blount County Democrat.

  • Dr. SANDERS, who spent some time in our community last year, and returned to his home in Iowa, is now stationed at Knoxville.  The Dr. paid our town a visit last Saturday.
  • Mr. J.L. LOWE, left for Colorado Saturday last to be absent several weeks.
  • Mrs. Gen. HOOD went to Montvale Tuesday last, to spend some tmie at that famous resort.
  • Capt. J.P. EDMONDSON was in town this week.
  • Mr. John HYDEN, son of Rev. S.W. HYDEN of this place, Superintendent of Public Instruction of Loudon county, was in town this week.
  • We regret to learn that Mr. Henry STERLING is still in a critical condition.
  • The Misses IRWINS, of whom we made mention in our last issue, are still confined to their beds of affliction.
  • Mr. John McCULLOCH is still confined to his bed of sickness.
  • We regret to learn our printer Mr. KIDD, of Knoxville, who has been absent two weeks from sickness, is still in feeble health.
  • Mr. J.L. ELMS, a former typo of this office, has the foremanship of this office now.
  • Mr. J.A. GODDARD is now spending some time at Montfale.
