EVANS, IVENS posted by Ron and Rachel Street , at Email: ronaldstreet@worldnet.att.net , on Thursday, February 6, 2003

Good morning from Glendale, Arizona. Thank you very much for your time, energy and effort in assisting people like myself. I am looking for a Rebecca Evans or Ivens who was likely married to a man named Vugin. I have found in the 1880 Census District #8 Arlington, Ballard County, Kentucky page 495a the following data.

Louis Ivens self married white age 55 b. TN, father b. TN, mother b. GA
Malinda Ivens wife married white age 45 b. KY, father b. KY, mother b. KY
Maouney Ivens son single white age 19 b. KY, father b. TN, mother b. KY
Thomas Ivens son single white age 17 b. KY father b. TN, mother b. KY
Mary F. Ivens dau. single white age 15 b. KY, father b. TN, mother b. KY
Robert L. Ivens son single white age 13 b. KY, father b. TN, mother b. KY
Beck Vugin dau. married white age 22 b. KY father b. TN, mother b. KY
Charles Vugin gson. single white age 2 b. KY, father ?, mother b. KY

I think that Beck Vugin shown in the 1880 census may be who we are looking for(Rebecca) but who knows at this point. Louis Ivens is listed in the 1860 Benton County, District 5 census but I cannot access the census because all that comes back is a partial listing excluding TN so I have not been able to examine the 1860 census to see who was in the household, like a Beck or Rebecca Ivens is shown. Could we impose upon you to look at Benton Counties 1860/1850 census or other data available to see if Beck was Rebecca and did Beck marry anyone named Vugin? Could you also tell us what state Louis Ivens's and Malinda's parents were born? I know that is asking a lot.

HATLEY posted by Don , at Email: hatley@cp-tel.net , on Saturday, February 15, 2003

I am trying to get back Sherwood (Sherod) Hatley. Somewhere I have the famous genealogic notes in the back which Thomas Smith did of the 1840 Benton County Census...

But I go back this way
Don Hatley (me)
Jasper Lee Hatley (1911 in Hopkins Texas)
Ollie Lee Hatley born in Tn and moved to Texas circa 1905
Jasper Hatley (son of Green and died and buried in Hopkins Co in 1941)
Now it gets sticky.
Is Green the son of Edwards, son of Sherwood, or am I missing a generation in there....

Any help would be appreciated.

MARLAR, UTLEY posted by Wendy Joyce Cabler , at Email: bcabler@nc.rr.com , on Sunday, February 23, 2003

I am looking for any connections to the name UTLEY or MARLAR in Benton County. My husband's grandmother's grandmother was Flora F. Utley Marlar. She married Thomas F. Marlar. They lived in Benton County until around 1904- when their daughter, Sally Myrtle Marlar was born. Then they moved to Lauderdale County ALABAMA. They are all buried here in LAUD County.

Any help with either of these names would be great. Thanks!
