James Wilson

James Wilson married Jane Brewer, daughter of Benjamin Brewer & Lydia Nolan. He was born 1822 and died about 1870 in Tennessee.

They had the following children:
i. Rebecca J. Wilson; Born 28 Dec 1839 in Wilson Co. TN. Died 24 Jul 1925 in Waco, Bosque Co., TX.
ii. Mary Frances Wilson Akers born Sept. 20, 1841. Died March 13, 1917
iii. Samuel Wilson; Born 1844 in Henry Co. TN.
iv. Thomas P. Wilson; Born 1846 in Henry Co. TN.
v. William Henderson Wilson; Born 1847 in Henry Co. TN. Died 17 Jul 1929 in McRaes Cemetery, Big Sandy, Benton Co. TN.
vi. Benjamin Jackson Wilson; Born 1850 in Benton Co. TN.
vii. Archibald Wilson; Born 1852 in Benton Co. TN
viii. John Lee Wilson; Born 1861. Died 19 Feb. 1885

Briton or Britain George

Britton or Brittain GEORGE was born about 1792 in Spartanburg Co., South Carolina. He married a Janie ___ about 1824 in Illinois. They had the following children:

1) Marion (died young)
2) Cynthia (died young)
3) Robert King GEORGE born October 24, 1831 near Vandalia, Fayette, Illinois

When Janie died ca 1831/1838 Britron took Robert King to TN and married Martha COLLIER, by whom he had the following children:

1) William J. GEORGE (b 1838 TN - ) md Harriet ___ dau Lucinda GEORGE b ca 1854
2) David GEORGE (b 1840 TN - ) also md a Harriet ?
3) Mary Ann Frances GEORGE (b 1842 TN - ) md Henry F. BARKER 1 May 1864
4) James GEORGE (b ca 1844 TN - )
5) Martha Ann GEORGE (b ca 1847 TN - )
6) Andrew Jackson GEORGE (b ca 1850 TN)
7) Margarett GEORGE (b ca 1851 TN)
8) John GEORGE (b ca 1855 TN)
Briton GEORGE died March 1857 and was buried in Camden, Benton Co., TN.

Robert King GEORGE born October 24, 1831 returned to Illinois, married 18 Nov 1860 in Vandalia, Fayette Co., Illinois to 1) Lydia CARTER, had son William Douglas GEORGE b 18 Aug 1860 Greenville, Bond Co., Illinois, who md Martha CARTER 18 Apr 1883; William died 14 Jan 1935 in Cobden, Union Co., Illinois. There were other children of this union but only William survived.

Lydia CARTER died bef 1868, then Robert King GEORGE took his son William Douglas to TN with him and married 2) Lucinda Caroline CAPLINGER on April 08, 1868 in Camden, Benton County, Tennessee. Their children were:

1. Nancy Elizabeth GEORGE (February 04, 1869 - October 30, 1956), md Charlie Powell ETHRIDGE 29 Mar 1891 in Paris, Henry Co., TN (11 children);
2. Robert Lee GEORGE (July 02, 1870 - September 10, 1931), md 1) Lucy WARRNICK 25 Sep 1890 in Camden, Benton Co., TN (div) (1 child) ; 2) Lattie HEITMEYER 15 Jan 1900, Maplewood, St. Louis, MO; d 22 Nov 1901 Camden, Benton Co., TN (no issue) ; 3) Mattie BEASLEY, 19 Oct 1905 in Benton Co., TN ( 4 children);
3. Ellen Drucilla GEORGE (October 19, 1871 - August 01, 1951); md George Washington BEASLEY 16 Feb 1898 in Benton Co., TN (5 children);
4. John Wesley GEORGE (December 19, 1872 - June 18, 1938); md Estella TOZIER 2 Jan 1904 in Clayton, St. Louis, MO (1 child);
5. King Hiram GEORGE (December 02, 1874 - ) md Mollie CAPLINGER 28 Feb 1897 in Camden, Benton Co., TN (div); md 2) Roxie ? 1912/1915;
6. Joseph Isachor GEORGE (November 20, 1876 - March 1877).

Robert King GEORGE and Lucinda Caroline CAPLINGER divorced in 1879, 24 March: Divorce recorded in Cobden, Union County, Illinois. He then married Ellen ? and had three children: Annie b ca 1884; Eliza b ca 1887; and Tolly, b ca 1890/1892. Robert King and Ellen divorced and he lived in Cobden, Union Co., IL where he had a small watch repair shop, until his death, with his son William. It is assumed Ellen went back to her people - thought to be of AL or AR.

Robert King GEORGE died on January 28, 1904 in Cobden, Union, Illinois. His occupation was listed in the census records as silversmith and watchmaker.

Lucinda Caroline CAPLINGER GEORGE died June 18, 1928 in Waurika, Jefferson, Oklahoma.

King Hiram Caplinger

King Hiram CAPLINGER was born around 1808 TN. He married Rebecca Elizabeth (Sarah/Betsy) KIRBY and they had the following children:

  • Martha CAPLINGER (about Abt. 1833 - abt 1883 (infant));
  • Mary Jane CAPLINGER (about 1835 - bef 1880); md John McLEROY 2 Oct 1856 Henry Co., TN;
  • Elizabeth C. CAPLINGER(October 23, 1835 - August 09, 1911); md Tom MAYNARD abt 1856;
  • John J. CAPLINGER (1837 Henry Co, TN - abt 1872); md 1) Mary CULPEPPER 12 Jan 1860 Benton Co., TN; md 2) Susan CULPEPPER 6 Apr 1867 Benton Co., TN;
  • George Washington CAPLINGER (About 1840 in Benton County, TN -aft 1903); md Sarah Ann or Dora GRAY of Benton Co., TN 22 May 1869 in Henry Co., TN;
  • James Monroe CAPLINGER (born about 1944 in Camden, Benton, Tennessee - 1849 Benton Co., TN (Child)
  • Lucinda Caroline CAPLINGER (April 22, 1844 - June 18, 1928) - Married Robert King GEORGE 8 Apr 1868 in Benton Co., TN.
  • Hiram Smith Corbitt CAPLINGER (May 23, 1847 - May 09, 1929) - Married Sarah Ann Eliza "Dove" ALSTON 10 Oct 1878 in Benton Co., TN;
  • James Buchanan "Buck" CAPLINGER (1858 - October 26, 1883 Benton Co., TN) Never Married.
  • King Hiram and Betsy lived in the area which is now Kentucky Lake in TN., raising nine children plus four of his brother's children, whose names and ages (in 1850) were Samuel 16, Lucinda 14, John 10, and Pernesy 8. (Believed to be children of Samuel Marion CAPLINGER and Martha CARTER)

    King Hiram CAPLINGER died September 24, 1863 in Petersburg, VA prison hospital, as a result of pneumonia from the Civil War. Rebecca Elizabeth or Betsy\Sarah KIRBY CAPLINGER died about 1887 in Terresita, Shannon, Missouri, is buried in Camden, Benton Co., TN, George Cemetery.

    William BEASLEY was born about 1765 in North Carolina or Pennsylvania. He married Mary Ann ___ some time before before 1790. They had the following children:
