William Warmack

William Warmack, Jr. was the third son of William and Millicent Warmack, who had moved with their children from North Carolina to Davidson County, Tenn, about 1810. He was born in Kentucky on 5 August 1806, maybe while they were moving.

William Warmack, Jr. was one of the early settlers in Benton County, Tenn. He moved here with his family before 1840, as he was listed in the Benton County, TN census for 1840, with a wife and two young sons. William, Jr., owned 200 acres of land in Benton Co, and on 1 February 1844, bought an additional 200 acres from Martha Wyatt.

In the 1850 Benton County census, William Warmack was listed with wife Rachel, age 38, and children: Thomas, age 18; William, age 15; Mary, age 8; Milly, age 6; Richard, age 4; Eliza, age 1. On 22 August 1852, Rachel died, and William married Eliza Jane Moss McNeil on 12 Dec 1854. They had one son Jesse Warmack, born 29 Dec 1856. William Warmack died 5 May 1880.

William had other family who came to Benton County, including a brother Richard Robert. Richard went to California during the 1849 gold rush, and got enough gold to come back to Davidson County, get his young family, and move to Benton County. He bought a farm on the 12 January 1856, in the Ramble Creek Community.
