George Junior Ward, age 55, of Briceville passed away Thursday, May 14, 1998 in Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
Mr. Ward was a deacon and member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Campbell County. He retired from strip mining at McCall’s Enterprises.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Ward, and a grandson, Zachary Hicks.
Survivors: wife of 34 years, Lola Mae Kennedy Ward of Briceville; daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Michael Moore and Charlotte and Jerry Hicks, all of Briceville; mother, Julia Duncan Ward of Briceville; grandchildren, Sheena Moore, Kayla Hicks and Jeremy Hicks; and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Sunday, May 17 in Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, Lake City.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 pm Monday, May 18 in the Fellowship Baptist Church, Campbell County, with the Rev. Andy Carroll and Rev. James Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in Gravehill Cemetery, Briceville.
