Obituary – Mitchell, Joe Leon

Joe Leon Mitchell Retired electrician

Joe Leon Mitchell, 62, of Clinton, died Thursday, July 30, 1998, at his home.

Mr. Mitchell was an electrician and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local No. 270 in Oak Ridge.

He was born in Anderson County on Aug. 22, 1935, the son of Joe and Inez Mitchell, both now deceased.

Mr. Mitchell was a member of Alpha Masonic Lodge No. 376 and a 32nd-degree Scottish Rite Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Albright Mitchell; two daughters, Mary Lea Mitchell and Sheryl K. Waldo, both of Clinton; a son, Michael Joe Mitchell and his wife, Sandra, of Clinton; a sister, Hazel Wallace of Clinton; and a brother, Sam B. Mitchell of Knoxville.

Mr. Mitchell is also survived by two grandchildren, Joshua Lee Waldo and Jamie Leigh Mitchell, both of Clinton; and by several nieces and nephews.

A Masonic service was held Sunday night, Aug. 2, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. The funeral followed, with the Rev. Mark Smith officiating.

A graveside service was to be held at 2 this afternoon, Aug. 3, at Anderson Memorial Gardens, Oliver Springs Highway, Clinton.
