CLINTON — Lula Mae Pruett Foust, 107, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2010, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be sorely missed by her family.

She was born in Hancock County, Tenn., on March 4, 1903, and moved to Anderson County at an early age. She graduated from Coal Creek High School, and Knoxville Business College. She married her high school sweetheart, Charlie Rufus Foust on Aug. 12, 1930. They lived in Oliver Springs, where he managed the local White Store. After moving to South Clinton, they owned and operated Foust Grocery Store for a number of years. She was a longtime member of South Clinton Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by parents, Thomas Miller and Alice Coleman Pruett; husband, Charlie Rufus Foust; brothers, Calloway, White, Lyde, Everett, Turley and Frank Pruett; sister, Luna Pruett Alexander; son-in-law, Leslie Earle Johnson; and great-granddaughter, Anessa Kay Hohman.

Survivors include daughter, Irma Foust Johnson, of Farragut; son, Charles Dwight and wife, Nancy Smiddy Foust, of Chattanooga; daughter, Norma Foust and husband, Lowell Hohman, of Clinton; grandchildren, Denise Johnson and husband Dale Ray Jr., of Suwanee, Ga., Cheryl Johnson and husband, Donnie Shanklin, of Farragut; David Charles Johnson, of Friendsville; Michael and wife Sheila Hohman, of Clinton; Alan and wife, Wendy Hohman, of Oak Ridge; Callie Foust and husband, Brian Adkins, of Knoxville; Sheri Foust and husband, Eric Gardzina, of Brentwood; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends today, March 23, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home with funeral service at 8 p.m. with Dr. Roger Pugh officiating.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 24, at 11 a.m. at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens in Claxton.
