Obituary of Grace Scruggs, 1997:

Grace Scruggs November 5, 1997.  Grace Wilson Scruggs, age 91, of Eagle Bend Road, Clinton, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 5, 1997, at her residence.

Mrs. Scruggs was a secretary for 44 years with Bush Brothers Cannery in Clinton before retirement.  She was a charter member of Clinton Wednesday Club and Clinton Timely Topics Club.  Mrs. Scruggs was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church.

She was the daughter of the late Frank and Dora Pyatt Wilson.

Survivors:  daughters and sons-in-law, Gracie and Charles Allen of Nashville, and Jimmie Ann and Gene Wright of Caryville; grandchildren, Jenny and Jack Cunningham of Nashville; David All and Thomas Allen, both of Nashville; Julie and Steve Minton of Knoxville; and Jody and Kim Wright of Clinton; great-grandchildren, Grace Ann Cunningham and Molly Cunningham, both of Nashville; Michael Minton of Knoxville; and Lauren and Mollie Wright of Clinton; several cousins and a host of friends.

Family received friends 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, Holley-Gamble Funeral Home.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, Holley-Gamble Chapel, the Rev. Warren Wattenbarger officiating.  Interment was in Sunset Cemetery.
