2015 Election Nominee – Elizabeth Swanay-O’Neal

Elizabeth Swanay-O’Neal joined the TNGenWeb in January 2012 as the Coordinator for Greene County. Although a second-generation Californian herself, Elizabeth’s Tennessee roots pre-date the formation of Greene County. For almost three decades, she has spent countless hours researching not only her own Greene County ancestors, but many of their friends and neighbors, as well.

Elizabeth has spent the past 3 years moving content from the “old” Greene County site over to its new WordPress format. Part of what she enjoys most is adding new content contributed by volunteers; she often sees familiar surnames and wonders if this person is a cousin, or that person is related to so-and-so. She also enjoys adding content she finds during her personal research, and hopes that visitors find the updated site to be helpful.

In addition to the Greene County TNGenWeb site, Elizabeth is the webmaster for the California State Genealogical Alliance and the Southern California Chapter, Association of Professional Genealogists. She is also the author of the popular genealogy blog, Little Bytes of Life, where she often writes about her own Greene County ancestors.

Elizabeth has used numerous USGenWeb sites in her years of research, and truly appreciates the time and talents invested by state and county coordinators, especially having served as one herself. She hopes to be able to “pay it forward” with her technical and research skills as a member of the TNGenWeb board.
