Hi! My name is Darlene Anderson and I have been nominated and am running for a seat on the TNGenWeb Executive Board. I have served on the board for one term. Currently, I also serve on the County Coordinator Support Committee (new this year) and the Education Committee (new this year). I am running for a 2nd term because I want to continue to serve the TNGenWeb in a capacity that will help further the goals of this organization, get to know many of my fellow coordinators and help Tennessee researchers with their research questions.
I have been a volunteer for the TNGenWeb on and off since 1998. I am coordinator for Claiborne, Hickman and Williamson (co-coordinator) counties. My interest in Williamson is that I was born in this county. My ancestors in this county go back to the early 1800s. My interest in Hickman is that my ancestor, Joseph Elkins, came there and was on the 1830 census. He raised his family there and some of the descendants continue to live there today. My interest in Claiborne deals with my husband’s Anderson family.
Personally, I am a full-time genealogist and also volunteer with the INGenWeb as a coordinator for Boone County and a genealogy library in my local area. I also manage two DNA projects, the Anderson DNA Project and the Elkins DNA Project.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and I sure hope that you vote for me!
